YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (YDP)

Ages: 8–11 yrs old (U11)

Program Description

The Youth Development Program (YDP) introduces children to the fundamental movement skills RUN JUMP and THROW in accordance with PHYSICAL LITERACY SKILL Development Model. Through the introduction of basic track and field skills –– from warm-ups to basic technique and principles of track and field, athletes will develop their physical literacy skills. The program runs 2 sessions annually in the spring and fall. Program sessions run 7 weeks. YDP is open to kids ages 8-11. Practices take place outdoors at the Ray Lewis Track. There are 2 practices/week 1 hour length. Practice days will be announced before registration opens. INTERMEDIATE PROGRAM

Ages: 11-13 yrs old (U12- U14)

Program Description

The Intermediate Development program continues to develop Physical Literacy skills (Learning to Train) through the introduction of specific Track and Field and Cross-Country disciplines. Athletes are introduced to Speed/Power skills and training in sprinting (100m, 200m, 400m), hurdles (60mH indoors, 200mH outdoors) and jumps (long, high and triple). Endurance development in Middle distance running skills and training : 800m to 1500m. Throws skills and training: discus, shot put, javelin and Cross-Country (only fall season) skills and training.

Registration for the Winter Indoor Season: end of December Registration for the Spring Summer Outdoor Season: March Registration for the Cross Country Season: Late August/Early September Cost: $550 for annual membership + $100 volunteer fee (Valid for the calendar year) Cost: $275 for winter indoor season Cost: $275 for spring-summer outdoor season Cost: $175 for fall outdoor season ** A sibling discount rate is available for subsequent family members, if you are eligible contact our Registrar. COMPETITIVE SENIOR POWER/SPRINTS PROGRAM

Ages: 14-19 yrs old (U16-U20)

Program Description

This program progresses from Learning to Train to Training to Train, Training to Compete and finally Training to Win for Specific Sprint/ Hurdle and Jumping events. Specific programs are developed for specific events based on annual program planning. The level of commitment to training over the course of the program becomes more progressive. Alumni Seasonal

Ages: 18 – 29

Program Description

This program offers HOC Alumni athletes an opportunity to train with the club during Club training times at their convenience. This is a self-directed program with the opportunity to consult with Event Coaches for training advice or programming. Participation in competitive meets is solely determined by the athlete. As this program is directed by the athlete any associated costs for competition is incurred by the athlete.

Adult Seasonal

Program Description

This program offers adult athletes an opportunity to train with the club during Club training times at their convenience. This is a self-directed program with the opportunity to consult with Event Coaches for training advice or programming. Participation in competitive meets is solely determined by the athlete. As this program is directed by the athlete any associated costs for competition are incurred by the athlete.

HOC Memberships cover equipment maintenance and purchase, facility rentals, annual club awards and banquet, coaching expenses, meet registration for club approved meets determined by the Head Coach. *Any meet entry outside club approved is at the expense of the athlete.
